Hello, and welcome to Japan Travel Hacks.
I was born and raised in Fukuoka City, and Fukuoka has always been a special place to me. Although I have lived outside Fukuoka at times after getting married, I have often returned to my hometown and have continued to visit and enjoy the city over the years.
I started this site because I believe Fukuoka has so much to offer.
Fukuoka is one of Japan’s major cities, yet it also has beautiful nature, a relaxed atmosphere, and an incredible food culture. From local restaurants and traditional foods to places worth visiting and everyday experiences that show a different side of Japan, there are many things here that I would love to share with people visiting from overseas.
What I Share
Most of the places and experiences featured on this site are things I have personally experienced.
I write about restaurants I have visited, places I have enjoyed, foods I have tried, and things that have stayed in my memory over the years. Some of these places are well known, while others are simply places that I personally think are worth knowing about.
My goal is not just to introduce popular tourist spots. I also want to share the small experiences and local discoveries that can make a trip to Fukuoka more enjoyable and memorable.
As the site grows, I may also introduce places that I have not personally visited. In those cases, I will make it clear when information comes from people close to me or from reliable sources, rather than presenting someone else’s experience as my own.
A Local Perspective on Fukuoka
If you are planning a trip to Fukuoka, I hope Japan Travel Hacks can help you discover something beyond the standard sightseeing list.
I want to share Fukuoka from a personal, local perspective—its food, places, culture, and the everyday experiences that make this city special to me.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy discovering Fukuoka with me.
